Course Objectives

 

The Idaho Chapter of the AAFP is presenting this program of continuing medical education as a focus on dermatology topics.  At the end of this course, the attendee will: be able to use evidence based decision making in caring for patients with cutaneous manifestations of internal disease; understand the techniques and innovative resources available to diagnose and treat skin cancers; be given tactics in treating patients with sun damaged skin ailments; obtain strategies to address emergent and non-emergent dermatology problems such as dermatitis, onychomycosis and cutaneous candidiasis; gain skills, through case presentations on difficult eczema, acne and common dermatosis occurrences; become skilled at the therapies availble to treat fungal infections and psoriasis

 

 

 

Registration - Includes the CME program and materials, continental breakfast, beverage breaks and lunch.  Registration will be limited - Pre-registration is recommended and will be offered at a special fee.  A $25 “late registration” will be assessed AFTER October 25.  Cancellations prior to November 5 will be refunded less $25 administration fee.  After November 5, there will be no refunds.

Breakfast & Lunch - are included in the registration fee.  HOWEVER, Retired Physicians, Residents, Students, Guests and Spouses must purchase a meal ticket ($20).

Room Reservations - A block of rooms has been reserved at Cactus Pete’s.  Call 1-800-821-1103 OR 702-755-2321 before October 24 for reservations and mention that you are attending the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians meeting to qualify for a group rate of $55 single or double in the Tower.

Accreditation – Application for 6 CME prescribed credits has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians.  Determination of credit is pending.  AAFP Prescribed Credit is accepted by the AMA as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit for the AMA Physicians Recognition Award.    When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed hours earned must be reported as Prescribed hours, not as Category 1.  It is the policy of IAFP's Education Committee to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all its sponsored or jointly sponsored educational programs.  All speakers are expected to disclose to the program audience any real or apparent conflict's of interest related to the content of their presentation(s).
